Paleo Wraps are sooooo gooood! There that is my review. Ok seriously, these things have been doing it for me lately. I can't get enough of them! Since my little one is on The GAPS Diet we have all been learning and experimenting with cutting out bread, grains, and lots of the things we were once used to. Instead we are eating bacon, eggs, sausage, butter, meat, even LARD. An article just came out the other day in The New York Times called, "A Call for a Low-Carb Diet that Embraces Fat" (read the article here) so I am not the only one. New studies have shown that, "people who avoid carbohydrates and eat more fat, even saturated fat, loose more body fat and have fewer cardiovascular risks than people who follow the low-fat diet that health authorities have favored for decades" (New York Times). I have seen what this nurturing high fat diet can do first hand- curing my daughter's eczema!
So we are embracing it. We aren't eating a Paleo Diet, which excludes dairy. We are eating more of a GAPS, Weston A. Price type of style. Nonetheless what all these eating lifestyles have in common is getting back to basics, eating real food, and cutting out packed foods with huge unpronounceable ingredient lists.
These Paleo Wraps by Julian Bakery make it so I don't have to give up my favorite breakfast burritos and the wraps I have been making for lunch have been downright decadent. I have to give Paleo Wraps a big thumbs up.
There are two types of Paleo Wraps- regular and turmeric. I like them both. How can I not love something that only has three ingredients???? Amazingly the only ingredients are: coconut meat, coconut water, unrefined virgin coconut oil (and turmeric). They are derived from organic coconuts and are vegan, raw, and gluten-free. They are soft and can easily be folded into wrap, taco or burrito style. I have been enjoying them morning, noon, and night.
It is rare to find something that is simply good...meaning that the ingredient list isn't a mile long and it does everything it says it does. It's Paleo and it's a Wrap. Nothing more. It's what you create with it that makes it shine. Have you tried them? What is your favorite filling?
