Today I made Cinnamon Apple Chips and Apple Salad Crisps. Say that three times fast!
I had three apples that were getting a bit mealy and two yummy new ones and I felt like creating. Apple chips are perfect for those past their prime apples that have lost their crunch. I don't have a dehydrator yet so I decided to bake them.
I also made crispy apple "noodles" to top our dinner salads. I love my Spiral Slicer and I am always looking for new things to make with it.
Slice up apples as thin as possible. If you own a Mandoline Slicer by all means slice away. Place on baking sheet, sprinkle with cinnamon, and bake at 250 for about two hours, flipping after an hour. Move around the apple "noodles" half way through if you are making those as well.
Yum with very little effort. These things were gone in about a minute!
And our salads, packed with crunch, tasted great, too!
