Get a Salad Bar in Your School

Salad. You either love it or you hate it. I love it. If you don't, try again- I have actually heard that you need to try something fifteen times before you rule it out. Some tastes really do grow on you.

Our schools today serve hamburgers, chicken nuggets, french fries, and what vegetables they do serve are of the frozen, not so tasty variety.

My kids are lucky. Their elementary school is very pro-active. They have a garden program, they are learning about food, they compost as a school, recycle, the whole nine yards. Whole Foods recently donated a salad bar to the school. They made a big production out of it. There was an assembly with carrot crunching contests and those that tried the salad bar ten times in one month received a T-Shirt. The kids are really excited about the whole thing. Make it happen in your school!!! Apply here to get a salad bar donated: http://saladbars2schools.org/
